I never thought that I would end up living in Canada until my husband, Bruce, sponsored me in 2007. He is a Filipino, by the way. I slowly get adjusted to the weather, riding the bus and speaking English. We always cooked Filipino food at home and a picky eater. I prefer eating Filipino restaurant and Asian cuisine. Honestly, I learned to cook and bake only here in Calgary. I told myself that I will cook food for my husband and my family. I even bought cook books before I went to Canada. I started watching cooking videos and searching recipes thru the help of Mr. Google. I cook our meals. My husband and I always bring baon to work everyday. It’s cheaper than buying outside and I prefer Filipino food anyways. I believe in the saying, “Practice makes it perfect.” Thanks to Bruce! He’s never tired of tasting my dishes and my in-house critic. Then, I also got hooked with baking. I registered to online baking classes and baked a lot for my daughter. I love to bring my baked goods and dessert to parties and in the office. My friends liked it and started ordering. I started posting it on Facebook.
